Stabbings in Wembley, London

Overview

In late July 2026, a 40-year-old man was injured in a stabbing on Preston Road in Wembley. The victim was treated at a major trauma centre for non-life-threatening injuries, and the Metropolitan Police launched an investigation into the incident.

On August 25, a second stabbing occurred at the Brent Civic Centre in Wembley, resulting in a fatality. The victim, described as a teenager or a man in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Brent Council Leader Muhammed Butt stated the community has been “conmocionado por un incidente terrible y profundamente trágico.”

Following the fatal incident, the civic centre was evacuated and closed to the public. Police have implemented a Section 60 order to grant officers additional stop-and-search powers in the area. Authorities have indicated there is no current evidence to suggest the attack was terror-related, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murder.
