The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a Class I recall for approximately 167,000 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products from North Carolina-based Star Meat Delivery Inc. The recall was triggered after it was discovered that the products were produced without required federal inspection and bore falsified USDA inspection labels featuring establishment number EST. 1363. Star Meat Delivery Inc. disputed the claims of falsification, asserting the establishment number was “legitimately reserved” during a pending application process. However, the USDA warned that the meat should be considered “misbranded and unsafe to eat” due to potential risks of harmful bacteria, undeclared allergens, or other contaminants. The affected products were products—including beef ribs, beef oxtail, beef chuck, pork chorizo, pork chops, and various goat cuts—were vacuum-sealed and distributed in bulk to A&D Foods, a Georgia-based distributor, which supplied various retailers and restaurants across the United States. Regulators noted that the establishment label might be obscured on some packages by retail pricing or handling stickers. The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) advises consumers to check for A&D Foods products and recommends discarding or returning any suspected meat. As of the latest reports, September 22, 2026, there have been no confirmed instances of illness or injury related to the consumption of these products.
