Stellar network DeFi and RWA growth
Overview
The Stellar network has experienced significant growth in its decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) sectors.
In early October, the ecosystem’s total value locked (TVL) reached a record $273 million, supported by high on-chain activity and a stablecoin market capitalization of approximately $934.54 million. During this period, the network managed roughly $2.82 billion in active real-world assets.
By mid-October, the scale of tokenized real-world assets on the network expanded to approximately $3.5 billion, marking a 360% increase from the previous year. This growth has positioned Stellar as the third-largest blockchain for tokenized RWAs, trailing only Ethereum and BNB Chain. This expansion is driven by the tokenization of instruments such as government treasuries, sovereign debt, and money-market funds. Recent net inflows into Stellar-based investment funds have also reportedly outperformed those of Ethereum and Polygon.
