Austin struggled offensively, recording only two shots, though goalkeeper Brandie Musser recorded a career-high seven saves. On September 9, Stephen F. Austin defeated Texas Southern 3-0 at Durley Field. Savanna Oberholtzer scored in the 23rd minute, and Lucie Platt scored twice, including a penalty kick early in the second half.
