Storm Adam brought heavy rains and flooding to the Safor and Marina Alta regions on October 18 and 19, causing significant damage to infrastructure, housing, agricultural holdings, and natural areas. In response to the emergency, the Partido Popular (PP) in Gandia proposed an urgent economic aid package for families, self-employed workers, and businesses. The party requested that the city be declared a ‘zona catastrófica’ (catastrophic zone) and called for an extraordinary fund for material damages, a municipal service point for insurance claims, and an inventory of damages to private and public property. As of October 24, the Generalitat Valenciana has released the first 17.5 million euros in emergency funds to address storm damage. These resources are designated for urgent municipal infrastructure repairs, the restoration of basic services, and cleaning and recovery efforts. Second Vice President and Minister of the Presidency, José Díez, met with the mayors of Els Poblets and Bellreguard to announce an advance of 200,000 euros for affected town halls, which can be paid without requiring guarantees to facilitate immediate action. Regarding service restoration, the administration reported that all damaged health centers and regional roads are now operational. Additionally, 27 out of 29 damaged water treatment plants have been repaired. Previously, the reopening of the CV-700 marked the final restoration of the regional road network following repairs to over 80 kilometers of roads affected by flooding, debris, and landslides. By October 26, the impact on agricultural infrastructure became more acute. In Pego, torrential rains destroyed dozens of rural roads, collapsed terrace walls, and damaged irrigation systems. Local farmers have warned that the citrus harvest is at risk if farm access is not restored quickly, as excess water in plots may damage the fruit. The Pego City Council has established a one-and-a-half-month deadline to repair the affected routes.
