Student deaths in Delhi

Overview

In August 2026, two separate incidents involving the deaths of 19-year-old students were reported in Delhi.

On August 9, a third-year BA student was found dead near the Mall of Rajouri in Rajouri Garden. Police recovered a handwritten suicide note at the scene, and investigators stated that “no evidence of foul play has been found thus far.”

On August 22, a third-year BSc Nursing student was found dead in her hostel room in Rajendra Nagar. Following the discovery of the student, who was a resident of Najafgarh, medical officials at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital notified the Delhi Police. Authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the circumstances of the death.
