Student United Nations model simulations in Argentina

Overview

Educational initiatives in Argentina are utilizing United Nations model simulations to develop diplomatic and leadership skills among secondary school students.

In La Capital, the municipality signed a cooperation agreement with the Universidad Nacional de Catamarca to launch an interdisciplinary pedagogical project. This program, supported by Catamarca Global, involves sixth-year Social Sciences and Humanities students. Mentorship is provided by International Relations students, with a central debate event scheduled for November.

Separately, the Conciencia Foundation’s ‘Uniendo Metas’ program has conducted large-scale simulations in San Rafael and Luján. In San Rafael, approximately 500 students participated in the 26th edition of the program, engaging in debates on the global agenda. In Luján, the 16th edition saw over 500 students research and represent various countries to propose solutions to international issues, supported by the National University of Luján.

The ‘Uniendo Metas’ program has continued its expansion, with the 22nd edition in Tucumán bringing together more than 550 students for a Model United Nations simulation to foster leadership skills and debate on global issues.
