Subsea service providers are expanding their operational footprints and forming strategic partnerships to enhance offshore capabilities. Omega Subsea has initiated several expansions, including the establishment of a new operational base at Hilleren Navy Supply Park in Norway, expected to be operational by January 2027. The company has secured five-year contracts with NKT to provide ROV services for the vessels Eleonora and NKT Victoria, marking an expansion into the offshore cable installation sector. Mobilization for these services is underway at shipyards in Ulsteinvik and Brattvåg. The NKT Eleonora, scheduled to enter service in 2027, is designed to carry over 23,000 tonnes of cable for high-voltage power installation projects across Europe. Other industry collaborations include a memorandum of understanding between Astro Offshore and Oceaneering International to integrate vessel capabilities with ROV and survey expertise. Additionally, DeepOcean and the controlling entity of TFKable Group—which includes Tele-Fonika Kable and JDR Cable Systems—have formed a joint venture to provide integrated EPCI services. This partnership targets inter-array cable projects within the offshore wind sector and includes plans for a newbuild, dedicated inter-array cable-laying vessel to combine manufacturing capabilities with offshore engineering and seabed intervention expertise. In related developments, N-Sea Group has taken delivery of the Dutch-flagged vessel Altera. Built by Neptune Marine, the vessel features a shallow-draught hull and a 4,500-tonne cable capacity, intended for interconnector, export, and inter-array cable projects in both shallow and deep waters. Expanding the sector's vessel capacity, OMS Group held a keel laying ceremony on September 17, 2026, at CRIST Shipyard in Poland for the CS Resilience. The 130-meter vessel is the first of two being built to the ULSTEIN SX252 design for the Group’s GREAT-Class fleet.
