Regional governments in Sulawesi are managing fiscal planning and budget proposals for upcoming fiscal years. In Southeast Sulawesi, Governor Andi Sumangerukka announced an increase in the 2026 regional budget (APBD) to Rp4.448 trillion to support inclusive economic growth. This adjustment follows a 6.23 percent economic growth rate recorded in the first quarter of 2026. Observers have called for a higher share of the Mining Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH), noting (DBH); economic observer Abdul Rahman Farisi noted that while the province contributes approximately Rp118 trillion annually to the central government, the 2025 DBH was only about Rp800 billion. Farisi proposed that up to 30 percent of these funds should be allocated toward strategic long-term benefits, such as scholarships. In North Sulawesi, Governor Yulius Selvanus has submitted the 2027 Regional Budget Draft (Ranperda APBD) to the DPRD, projecting revenues of Rp3.24 trillion against expenditures of Rp3.04 trillion. During plenary sessions, the Golkar Party faction acknowledged progress in education access but raised concerns regarding allocations that appear lower than previous planning documents. They also requested clarification on a Rp210 billion debt obligation due in 2027. Meanwhile, the Democrat Party urged the government to prioritize community welfare and evaluate ceremonial activities to ensure funds provide direct benefits to the people. In Central Sulawesi, officials have begun discussing the preparation stages for the 2027 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBD). Vice Governor Reny A. Lamadjido and other officials emphasized that the budget must serve as an instrument to improve public service quality and community welfare. To address fiscal limitations, the provincial government is seeking synergy between local authorities, the legislature, the business sector, and the community, with plans to optimize regional original income (PAD) and improve taxpayer compliance.
