Concurrently, the emergency department in Zvolen, Slovakia, is experiencing a surge in trauma cases, with injuries accounting for up to three-quarters of patients on certain days. Dr. Dalibor Panuška reported that frequent causes include accidents involving bicycles, scooters, and motorcycles, alongside minor injuries related to gardening and fruit harvesting. Additionally, the The Mountain Service of the Czech Republic reported approximately 1,400 rescue incidents between July 1 and August 17, an increase of about 300 cases compared to the previous year. Rescuers cited accidents in bike parks and heat-related collapses among hikers as primary factors, noting that extreme temperatures can cause fatigue factors.
