Sustainability and climate change seminars in Chile
Overview
In late October 2026, Chile hosted several events focused on sustainability and environmental challenges. In Santiago, the University of Chile hosted the second International Conference on Space and Sustainable Development (CEDS). This event aimed to foster dialogue between academia, international organizations, and the space industry regarding the peaceful and responsible use of space, aligning with the United Nations Space Agenda 2030.
Simultaneously, other regional efforts addressed environmental issues. The VII Climate Change Response Seminar took place in Arica and Parinacota, focusing on regional preparedness through discussions on topics such as harmful algal blooms and mosquito-related health concerns. Additionally, Pacto Global Chile held a seminar in Santiago titled “The Business Case for Sustainability,” where leaders discussed integrating sustainability into strategic decision-making to improve national competitiveness by 2030.
