Denis Ćorić has been appointed as the head coach of the Montenegrin champions, Sutjeska Nikšić, following a period of poor performance. Initially, the club sought to address a difficult start to the season characterized by losses in both European and domestic competitions. By late August, the situation expanded to include significant administrative instability. The Municipality of Nikšić, the club’s sole owner, announced plans to replace the entire management structure, including the Assembly and the Board of Directors, following the resignation of President Miomir Bakrač. This restructuring occurred amidst public debate regarding the legitimacy of new appointments, as the club had been without a president for 12 days. In September, the focus shifted from administrative changes to on-field incidents. During a Montenegrin First League match against FK Petrovac, head coach Denis Ćorić was struck in the head by a thrown object from the stands following a player's dismissal and subsequent pitch confrontation. The incident caused the stands to be emptied, and the match eventually resumed in front of empty seats, resulting in a 0-0 draw. Ćorić later released a statement expressing gratitude for medical assistance and stating that he was feeling better. He emphasized that such actions should not diminish his respect for Montenegrin football and called for unity to ensure such incidents are never repeated.
