Swedish Crown Princess Victoria is conducting a series of international visits in mid-to-late 2026. In August, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel visited Vaasa, Finland, to commemorate the 250-year anniversary of the Vaasa Court of Appeal. The itinerary included meeting local representatives and visiting the Wärtsilä technology centre to observe developments in carbon-neutral shipping and energy production. Following the Finnish visit, the Crown Princess began a four-day mission to Indonesia on September 4, serving as a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Goodwill Ambassador. Accompanied by Diana Janse, Sweden’s State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion, the mission focuses on sustainable development, climate action, biodiversity conservation, and digital transformation. In Jakarta, the Princess visited the Eijkman Building to observe Indonesia’s Biomedical and Genome Science Initiative (BGSi), a program aimed at enhancing precision medicine and disease outbreak preparedness. She also visited the Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral, where Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar noted the visit as an observation of Indonesia’s tradition of religious tolerance. She also met with female leaders to discuss the nation’s development progress. The mission continued to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), where the focus shifted toward economic ~~empowerment and~~ empowerment, disaster ~~recovery.~~ recovery, and environmental initiatives. In Lombok, the Crown Princess participated in coral reef planting at Gili Meno to support marine biodiversity and explored the SMILE digital application, which monitors immunization and vaccine logistics in remote areas. Local officials expressed hope that the visit would provide international exposure for the province’s tourism, agriculture, and craft sectors, including local products such as pearls, woven fabrics, and cashew-based foods.
