Vimmerby Hockey concluded their preseason with a 6-2 victory against IK Oskarshamn. Goals were provided by Anton Carlsson, Johan Mörnsjö, Ludvig Andersson, and Hannes Hellberg, with Carlsson and Mörnsjö each scoring twice. Coach Eric Karlsson observed that while the team showed potential and played effectively in the first and third periods, the primary challenge remains finding a consistent level to avoid lapses seen in previous matches, such as their 9-2 loss to Nybro. Following the transition to the regular season, Vimmerby Hockey secured their first home win in HockeyAllsvenskan by defeating MoDo Hockey 3-2 in overtime. After trailing in both the second and third periods, Vimmerby equalized via Elias Rosén with only 57 seconds remaining in regulation. Captain Anton Carlsson subsequently scored the winning goal in overtime. Following the defeat, MoDo head coach Mikael Karlberg stated that his team ‘gave the match away completely,’ noting a lack of desperation and fighting spirit. In their next outing, Vimmerby Hockey suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to Södertälje SK. Södertälje established an early 2-0 lead through A. J. Vanderbeck and Daniel Norbe, but Vimmerby mounted a comeback in the second period behind two goals from Hugo Lejon. Despite the comeback, player Daniel Muzito-Bagenda criticized the team’s performance during the middle segment as ‘junior-like’ due to unforced errors and poor passing. Coach Eric Karlsson noted that while the team showed resilience, an overtime turnover ultimately decided the match. He emphasized the need for the team to take more responsibility for the puck in critical situations. ~~In the match against Vimmerby, Södertälje SK secured their third consecutive victory after Egor Polin scored the decisive goal just 32 seconds into overtime.~~ Building on recent performances, Vimmerby HC secured a dominant 6–1 victory against Almtuna IS in Hockeyallsvenskan.
