Swiss International Air Lines emergency diversions

Swiss International Air Lines has experienced two separate emergency diversions involving flights over the Atlantic Ocean.

On August 25, a Boeing 777-300ER flying from Chicago to Zurich activated a ‘Squawk 7700’ emergency code. The aircraft diverted to Lajes Field in the Azores, landing successfully. While the airline did not officially confirm the cause, reports suggested a possible chemical odor on board.
