In preparation for the 2026/2027 academic year inauguration at Gdynia Maritime University, traffic restrictions will be implemented in the Wały Chrobrego area of Szczecin on October 2 and 3. Construction of a grandstand near the Contemporary Theatre is scheduled to begin on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, October 3, several streets—including Wały Chrobrego, Wawelska, Zygmunta Starego, Szczerbcowa, and Jarowita—will be closed to traffic from 00:01 to 18:00. While public transport will maintain regular schedules, commuters are advised to expect increased pedestrian traffic in the vicinity. As the academic year commences, nine higher education institutions in Szczecin have organized a joint celebration. This includes a ‘Spacerek na Uniwerek’ parade and the premiere of a new student anthem. These festivities are part of a broader nationwide start to the 2026/2027 semester, which includes large-scale inaugurations in cities such as Łódź, Katowice, and Warsaw.
