Taiwan National Games preparations and torch relay

Overview

Preparations for the 115th National Games, scheduled to be held in Taoyuan City from October 17 to 22, 2026, have progressed through a nationwide ceremonial torch relay.

In mid-September, the ceremonial flame arrived in Kinmen County, where it was officially handed over at the Juguang Tower plaza. The Kinmen delegation prepared to compete in 12 sporting events, including roller skating, woodball, and various folk sports.

By early October, the relay reached Keelung City and Changhua County. In Keelung, the delegation consists of 308 athletes competing in 21 events, with the city already securing seven gold medals in dragon and lion dance competitions. In Changhua County, a delegation of 756 athletes and staff members prepared for 31 events, including powerlifting and Tai Chi. Changhua has already secured eight medals in early competitions and is preparing to host future iterations of the games.
