The government of Tamaulipas is implementing various initiatives to support local economic sectors and industrial development. In the agricultural sector, the state is providing technical support and direct inputs to producers. Through the S107 Program for Productive and Economic Development 2026, the Secretariat of Rural Development, Fisheries, and Aquaculture has expanded its distribution of fertilizer to citrus producers. Initial efforts included the delivery of 77.45 tons of fertilizer to producers in the municipalities of Güémez and Hidalgo, specifically providing 3,098 bags to 241 producers in the El Roble ejido of Güémez. Subsequent distributions under the same S107 program have seen over 183 tons of fertilizer provided to the regional citrus sector. In the Emiliano Zapata ejido, 592 producers received 7,339 bags. Eliseo Camacho Nieto, representing Secretary Antonio Varela Flores, noted that these efforts aim to improve plot productivity and fulfill commitments to agricultural families. Officials have highlighted that favorable humidity and recent rains have aided orchard development and the efficient application of these resources. Furthering these efforts, the Secretariat has delivered 99 tons of granulated fertilizer, totaling 3,960 sacks, to 321 producers in the Emiliano Zapata ejido within the municipality of Llera. This marks the third consecutive year this initiative has been implemented to bolster the regional citrus sector. Local officials, including Llera Municipal President Moisés Borjón Olvera, emphasized the importance of these resources for the survival and development of local crops. Simultaneously, the state is working to integrate micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MiPyMEs) into larger industrial and public supply chains. The Secretariat of Economy and the Promotora para el Desarrollo de Tamaulipas (PRODET) are implementing strategies to link local businesses with major industrial projects, requiring compliance with standards in certification, quality, and digitalization. Recent commercial developments include an announcement by Secretary of Economy Ninfa Cantú Deándar that the Femsa group plans to open 90 new stores across the state. Additionally, the ‘Hecho en Tamaulipas’ program has launched the ‘Diseño de Logo 2026’ initiative, offering graphic design services to help registered entrepreneurs and micro-businesses establish professional brand identities.
