Promotional activities for the Tamil film ‘Anbil Avan’ have progressed from the release of its second single, ‘Kalla Nikkiriye’, to the debut of a trailer and behind-the-scenes footage. Directed by R. Karthikeyan and starring Ashok Selvan and Preity Mukhundhan, the film is described as a romantic action narrative. The trailer depicts a couple whose lives are disrupted by a disturbing incident, leading to confrontations with shady characters. Recent updates regarding the trailer suggest a narrative shift; while initial songs indicated a traditional romance, the trailer reveals more action, depicting a couple facing unexpected challenges and conflict after attempting to marry against family opposition. To prepare for the film’s theatrical release on September 25, promotional material highlighted Selvan’s commitment to authenticity, including a high-risk stunt involving a 70-foot cliff dive. Following its release, the film has been characterized as a romantic drama that transitions into an action-thriller. The plot follows protagonists Surya and Iyal, who marry against their families' wishes and relocate to a hill station to operate a homestay business. Their peace is disrupted when a local MLA attempts to acquire their property, pulling the couple into a dangerous conflict involving lawyers, police, and influential figures. The narrative is noted for shifting from an emotional romantic connection in the first half to a fight for survival in the second. Lead actor Ashok Selvan has been recognized for his ability to handle both romantic and intense action sequences.
