Tamil Nadu industrial and logistics expansion
Overview
Tamil Nadu is pursuing significant industrial and logistics infrastructure expansions. Initially, TVS Industrial & Logistics Parks (TVS ILP) signed a ₹10 billion Memorandum of Understanding with the state government to develop tech-enabled assets intended to support sectors such as e-commerce, automobiles, and FMCG.
Following this, Industries Minister S. Keerthana announced further large-scale projects, including a 2,570-acre industrial park in Thoothukudi and a 1,294-acre electric vehicle manufacturing park in Sillanatham. The state is also exploring incentive frameworks for semiconductor companies and digital safety monitoring systems. These developments occurred amidst political debate in the Assembly, where the Minister dismissed reports of declining industrial investment as “paid news.”
