Tampere musical performances and anniversaries

Overview

The Tampere Philharmonic and Tampere Opera have announced several upcoming performances at Tampere Hall.

In December 2026, the Tampere Opera will celebrate its 80th anniversary with gala concerts on December 4 and 5. These events, conducted by Mikko Franck, will feature soloists Karita Mattila and Tommi Hakala performing works by composers such as Verdi, Wagner, Puccini, Janáček, and Sibelius.

Looking toward the 2027 season, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra will hold a New Year’s concert on January 9, 2027. Conducted by Matthew Halls, the program will feature violinist Augustin Hadelich performing Niccolò Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 4, alongside works by Mozart and Beethoven. The performance of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony serves as the start of a year-long commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the composer’s death.
