Turkish basketball player Tarik Biberović has officially joined the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks following an eight-season tenure with Fenerbahçe. Biberović described the transition as the fulfillment of a lifelong dream and the highest point of his career. In reflecting on his departure from Istanbul, he expressed an emotional farewell to Fenerbahçe, characterizing the club as a family. He specifically credited coach Sarunas Jasikevicius as a mentor and ‘big brother’ who provided the development and mental fortitude necessary for his professional advancement. Before departing for the United States, the 25-year-old visited the Fenerbahçe training facility to bid farewell to staff, teammates, and Jasikevicius. During this visit, he stated, “Fenerbahçe is always like family to me. This is my home,” and expressed his intention to represent the club to the best of his ability during his NBA tenure. Former teammate Wade Baldwin also attended the session to acknowledge Biberović’s impact on the team. Over his eight seasons with Fenerbahçe, Biberović contributed to multiple titles, including one EuroLeague championship, four Turkish League titles, and five Turkish Cups.
