Tata Motors has officially launched the Aeris, a new compact sedan in India intended to succeed the Tigor model. The vehicle is positioned to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze. In a strategic shift, Tata intends to separate its customer segments by offering the Aeris specifically to private buyers. This marks a departure from competitors like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, as Tata plans to continue the Tigor brand under the ‘Xpres’ guise for fleet and commercial use. Starting at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹5.29 ~~lakh for petrol manual variants,~~ lakh, the Aeris is offered in five trim levels: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative, and ~~Accomplished. The~~ Accomplished, with pricing ~~for the model ranges~~ reaching up to ₹9.75 lakh. The lineup includes both petrol and CNG powertrain options, with manual and AMT transmission choices. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Revotron ~~unit,~~ unit producing 86 bhp and 113 Nm of torque, while the CNG version produces between 74.5 and 76 bhp and utilizes twin-cylinder technology to maintain a 419-litre boot capacity. The Aeris features a redesigned exterior inspired by the Tiago hatchback, including slim LED headlamps, a gloss-black grille, and an 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The interior ~~with~~ includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment ~~system,~~ system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a ~~semi-digital~~ digital instrument cluster, and ventilated front seats.
