In August 2026, Ho Chi Minh City hosted a series of major technology and innovation forums. The Conviction 2026 conference, held on August 14–15, focused on blockchain, digital assets, and AI applications. The event served as a dialogue between the private sector and public authorities, occurring alongside recent Vietnamese regulatory developments such as the Digital Technology Industry Law and a five-year pilot for crypto-asset markets. During the forum, a signing ceremony took place between the crypto-exchange platform Sacom (SCEX) and IVY to develop compliant digital-asset market infrastructure. Following this, the InnoEx 2026 international innovation forum and exhibition opened at Thiskyhall Sala on August 19–20. Under the theme ‘The Inflection Point – Where Global Shifts Fuel Business Reinvention’, the event addressed how shifts in AI, data, global value chains, and green transitions necessitate business model reinvention. The forum aimed to gather 4,000 business leaders and experts, with total attendance expected to exceed 30,000. The exhibition featured approximately 300 domestic and international entities across 7,000 square meters, focusing on artificial intelligence, digital solutions, green technology, and fintech. The program included startup pitches to over 70 investment funds from 60 countries and sessions for CEOs to discuss market-changing forces. Dang Minh Thong, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, emphasized that innovation and sustainable development must be integrated to transform technological shifts into productivity and ideas into tangible value. During the forum, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh urged Vietnamese enterprises to transform science, technology, and innovation into tangible competitive advantages, noting that the current business race requires the ability to convert technology into products and industrial-scale production. Additionally, the Green Innovation Summit 2026, held within the InnoEx framework, encouraged businesses to treat green innovation as a strategic driver for long-term advantage rather than a mere compliance cost.
