The TEKNOFEST 2026 competitions have reached their final stages, with a significant focus on electric vehicle development. Students from DOSTEK College have advanced to the finals after their electric vehicle project successfully completed technical design reporting, brake testing, dynamic driving tests, subsystem control, and technical approval. To support these efforts, Keçiören Municipality, via its Prof. Dr. Tunçalp Özgen Technology Center (TEKNOMER), has allocated 1.2 million Turkish Liras to 19 teams. This funding provides essential components—including underwater propellers, rocket parts, servo motors, electronic boards, and 3D printers—alongside mentorship and facility access. The final competitions for the International Electric Vehicle Races, managed by TÜBİTAK, are being held at the TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus from August 31 to September 6, 2026. The event features two primary categories: ‘Electromobil’, which uses battery power, and ‘Hidromobil’, which utilizes hydrogen fuel cells in addition to batteries. From an initial pool of 315 teams and over 3,000 students, 56 finalist teams comprising 1,116 students have progressed to the final stage to test their vehicles on a 1,370-meter track. While the Electromobil category includes participants from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Northern Cyprus, the competition also welcomes international entries, aiming to develop human resources for future mobility solutions. Following the conclusion of the event, DOSTEK Koleji secured second place in Turkey at the TEKNOFEST International Electric Vehicle Competition. Competing on the same platform as university-level teams, the high school team achieved this despite strict new specifications and changes to the competition format. In the final standings, Erciyes University took first place, followed by DOSTEK Koleji in second, and Pamukkale University in third. The jury commended the DOSTEK students for their mastery of the vehicle and their ability to perform real-time problem-solving.
