Major telecommunications restructuring is occurring in Argentina and Colombia driven by corporate acquisitions and regulatory requirements. In Colombia, Millicom, the parent company of Tigo, is integrating Movistar operations into its Tigo brand. This is part of a broader investment strategy in which Millicom has committed approximately USD 2.6 billion to the Colombian market over the next four years to fund infrastructure modernization, including 5G expansion and fiber optic deployment.
