Temptation Island alumni social media disputes

Former participants of the reality show Temptation Island have been involved in public disputes and have addressed the personal consequences of social media scrutiny.

Initially, Dimitri Hristov and Soraya Sabetta engaged in a public social media conflict. Sabetta accused Hristov of exploiting her image for views, while Hristov claimed the matter should have been private and alleged that Sabetta threatened legal action. Hristov concluded his response by stating, “don’t play dumb, we both know the reason why it didn’t work out between us.”

Following these events, other alumni, including Sabrina Soussi and Sabetta, spoke about the psychological and physical impact of online backlash. Soussi criticized hateful comments regarding her physical appearance, while Sabetta discussed the stress caused by social media criticism, noting that it led to significant weight loss and prompted her to temporarily uninstall social media platforms to protect her mental well-being.

Recently, the issues faced by these alumni have transitioned to mainstream media. On the Italian talk show Verissimo, hosted by Silvia Toffanin, both Soraya Sabetta and Sabrina Soussi were featured as guests. Sabetta used the platform to discuss her relationship with Cristian, including allegations of infidelity, alongside the ongoing psychological effects of social media criticism. Soussi also addressed the harassment she has faced regarding her physical appearance.

In subsequent appearances on Verissimo, Sabetta has continued to address the emotional toll of her breakup and the public criticism she has faced. She has specifically discussed the aftermath of her relationship with Cristian Mascolino following her appearance on Temptation Island, detailing the impact of his infidelity.
