Tesla has secured significant new credit facilities to fund large-scale capital expenditures and product development. Initially, the company secured €26.1 billion in credit lines from a banking consortium including Citibank and Wells Fargo. This package, which includes a €17.4 billion unsecured term loan, loan available in tranches over 18 months, was intended to replace a previous €4.35 billion credit line as part of a plan to exceed €21.7 billion in investments during 2026. Following this, Tesla secured a $30 billion credit package specifically aimed at the commercial scaling of its next-generation product pipeline. This includes the Cybercab autonomous robotaxi, the Optimus humanoid robot, and the Tesla Semi. The financing is split between a $20 billion term loan from Citibank and a $10 billion dual-part arrangement from Wells Fargo. These funds are intended to support manufacturing requirements, such as specialized production lines at Gigafactory Texas and a Tesla Semi facility in Nevada. Tesla indicated it does not intend to draw down on these new lines during the current calendar year.
