Several college football players from Texas-based universities have been recognized on preseason watch lists for the 2026 season. Texas Tech players J’Koby Williams and Kenny Johnson were named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list, while running back Cameron Dickey was included on the Walter Camp Award watch list. Additionally, the The University of Texas had four players named to has a significant presence on the Walter Camp Player of the Year preseason watch list: list, leading the nation with four selections: linebacker Rasheem Biles, wide receiver Cam Coleman, quarterback Arch Manning, and edge rusher Colin Simmons.
