On the international stage, Anutin’s official visit to Australia and New Zealand (August 17–22, 2026) aims to strengthen strategic partnerships and economic ties. During his time in Australia, which marks the first visit by a Thai Prime Minister in 14 years, Anutin met with New South Wales Governor Margaret Beazley in Sydney. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in innovation, economic sectors, and people-to-people exchanges. Anutin highlighted the significant Thai presence in New South Wales, noting approximately 30,000 residents and 10,000 students, which presents opportunities for research and workforce development. He also noted the growth in tourism, citing that roughly 800,000 Australians visited Thailand in 2025. On August 18, Anutin visited Thai Town in Sydney, where he was welcomed by Lord Mayor Clover Moore. Following his time in Sydney, Anutin traveled to Canberra to meet with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. During this visit, the two leaders witnessed the signing of a Joint Statement on Transnational Crime and a Leaders’ Statement on deepening economic engagement. Anutin led a delegation of 14 representatives from nine major Thai companies—including RATCH Australia, Thai Beverage, and Central Group—to discuss economic opportunities. He also met with Australian Opposition Leader Angus Taylor. Anutin’s itinerary includes a speech at the Lowy Institute.
