Thales, a major European defense technology firm, has introduced several new cybersecurity solutions to counter increasingly sophisticated, AI-driven attacks. The company unveiled tools such as Sentinel Envelope Plus to protect software from automated vulnerability searches and the CipherTrust Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platform to manage data risks. Following these announcements, Thales partnered with Qualys to expand data and cloud security capabilities. While Thales’s DSPM platform focuses on protecting sensitive information across cloud, SaaS, and AI workflows through encryption and masking, Qualys launched a Real-Time Cloud Security Posture Management tool. This integrated solution provides continuous monitoring of multi-cloud environments to detect configuration changes and vulnerabilities instantly. Expanding its AI-driven defense capabilities, Thales presented a new cyberdefense platform at the Thales Cyber Summit in Paris. This platform utilizes an automated model that integrates real-time detection and response tools under human supervision to protect critical infrastructure. The architecture consists of five interconnected components: application environment security, automated detection and response, a convergent cyberdefense platform, continuous vulnerability assessment, and resilience mechanisms for essential operational assets. This design aims to eliminate delays caused by isolated security modules by allowing threat information to flow automatically between diagnosis and remediation. These developments address growing risks, such as automated nocturnal cyberattacks targeting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through credential testing and malware deployment during non-working hours.
