Amazon Prime Video’s third season of *The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power* is set for a staggered November 2026 debut, beginning 11 November, with subsequent batches on 18 and 25 November. Following the San Diego Comic-Con reveal, showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay confirmed a five-year time jump and a shift toward a “darker, more dangerous” tone as the War of the Elves and Sauron intensifies. A central focus of the season will be Sauron’s (Charlie Vickers) emergence as the Dark Lord and the forging of the One Ring inside Mount Doom. This sequence is described as the production’s most technically complex and ambitious shot to date. The narrative will also feature the early Nazgûl and a shift in Gandalf’s appearance from the “Stranger” to his classic wizard form. As Sauron advances, major strongholds such as Khazad-dûm, Lindon, and Rivendell remain among the last areas standing against his armies. New cast members include Jamie Campbell-Bower (Celeborn), Zubin Varla (Khamûl), Eddie Marsan (Thrain), Andrew Richardson (Anárion), and Adam Young (Marnûkh). The Balrog, voiced by Simon Pegg, will engage in dialogue with ~~Sauron, portraying~~ Sauron. The season will also introduce the ~~creature as a strategic opponent. To streamline~~ first teenage dwarves in the ~~narrative,~~ franchise, Gerda (Amber Mendez-Martin) and Gamli (Lee Braithwaite), the ~~Harfoots~~ children of Prince Durin and Disa. These siblings will ~~not appear, allowing the story to focus on~~ become central figures in Khazad-dûm as tensions grow within the ~~escalating conflict across Middle-earth, including locations like Khazad-dûm, Rivendell, and Mordor.~~ dwarven kingdom. The billion-dollar production continues at Shepperton Studios, aiming to recapture viewers through a large-scale prologue introducing Elros, the first King of Númenor.
