The 17th season of ‘The Voice of Poland’ on TVP2 has transitioned from the blind auditions into the highly contentious Battle rounds. During the blind auditions, Marysia Majewska advanced after performing ‘Dreams’ by The Cranberries, earning a chair turn from debut coach Edyta Bartosiewicz. Karolina Jarzyńska, performing as Lina Silva, also impressed the panel with ‘Midnight Sun,’ despite receiving technical feedback regarding her pitch. As the competition moved into the Battle stage, coach decisions have sparked significant debate among viewers and on social media. In one matchup, Kuba Badach expressed disappointment with the timing and musical direction of Kuba Gąsowski and Gosia Stępień. While Badach chose Stępień to advance, Gąsowski was initially stolen by Michał Szpak, though he was ultimately eliminated when Iga Posta took his place. Gąsowski’s performance of the Oasis song ‘Wonderwall’ during this battle proved particularly divisive. While some fans praised his vocal potential, others criticized the execution, with some viewers describing the performance as a ‘misfire’ or suggesting the song was ‘massacred.’ Within Edyta Bartosiewicz’s team, Marysia Majewska was selected to stay in the competition, while Sandra Rusin was picked up by another coach. These high-stakes decisions and the resulting interactions between contestants and the coaching panel—consisting of Michał Szpak, Kuba Badach, Edyta Bartosiewicz, and the duo Tomson and Baron—continue to draw intense scrutiny.
