Since mid‑May 2026, Max Power Mining has accelerated its natural hydrogen programme, securing billionaire investor Eric Sprott’s stake, signing a letter of intent with Moose Jaw, presenting the Lawson discovery, and beginning a multi‑well validation program at the Lawson Complex on 8 July. An independent petrophysical review in early July confirmed multiple hydrogen‑rich zones at Bracken, supporting a basin‑scale system. On 15 July the company announced that drilling a well more than two kilometres deep had verified Canada’s first underground natural hydrogen deposit, with hydrogen concentrations up to 28.6% and helium up to 8.7% across a 475‑km‑long zone within a 14.2 km² area. On 27 July the Lawson 2 well reached a measured depth of 2,370 m, intersecting a hydrogen‑rich fracture zone that yielded stronger, more continuous hydrogen readings and associated helium spikes compared with the original discovery. Drilling paused before a second coring phase while the company prepares flow‑rate, pressure and reservoir‑characterisation tests. Completion testing and an independent engineering review by GLJ Ltd. are planned. Further drilling on 30 July extended the bore to 2,397 m, achieving a 100% core‑recovery rate and uncovering additional fractures with the highest natural hydrogen and helium measurements recorded at the site. Core samples have been sent to AGAT Laboratories for detailed analysis, and the company expects to issue an operational update in the week of 3 August. On 17 August, the company closed a $10 million strategic private placement with Eric Sprott. The proceeds are intended Sprott to advance the commercial validation drill program at the Lawson Complex. Following this investment, this, a special shareholder meeting was scheduled for 20 August to consider approving Mr. Sprott indirectly owns approximately 19.5% of the company’s common shares on as a non-diluted basis. control person. By 25 August, Mr. Sprott increased his stake to 24.35% after exercising more than 12 million warrants, generating approximately $6 million in additional proceeds.
