The restoration of the ancient theater at the Tlos Ancient City in Muğla, Turkey, has been completed following a 12-month excavation and reconstruction project led by Akdeniz University. The project utilized original stone pieces to maintain architectural authenticity. To support regional tourism and sustainable heritage management, a solar energy system (GES) was installed to power lighting for the site. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy confirmed that the project, implemented in collaboration with the Muğla Governor's Office and Akdeniz University, is now operational. The use of the Solar Power Plant (GES) specifically supports night museum operations, enabling visitors to experience the site during evening hours. This integration of renewable energy technologies aligns with Turkey’s broader sustainable cultural tourism goals. The Tlos Ancient City has since been recognized as a pioneer for sustainable heritage management through this implementation.
