The rock supergroup TMG, led by guitarist Tak Matsumoto, has announced the release of its third album, ‘TMG III SAYONARA’, scheduled for October 14. The six-track album features a collaboration with singer Ado and a cover of The Beatles’ ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’. Matsumoto stated the title represents gratitude and a transition toward a new stage. The album release is accompanied by the ‘TMG LIVE 2026 “SAYONARA”’ national tour. In support of the reunion, the November issue of BURRN! magazine will feature a cover story including exclusive interviews with all four members: Tak Matsumoto, Jack Blades, Eric Martin, and Matt Sorum. Leading up to the release, Matsumoto is scheduled for several high-profile media appearances. On the NHK program ‘SONGS’, TMG is expected to perform three songs, including the Beatles cover and the Ado collaboration, ‘SAYONARA’. The broadcast will also feature rare footage of Matsumoto performing 38 years ago as a support guitarist for TM Network during the Kohaku Uta Gassen. Additionally, Matsumoto will appear on ‘Nichiyobi no Hatsumimi Gaku’ on October 11 to discuss his early career and the creation of the B’z hit ‘ultra soul’.
