The municipal government of Toluca has implemented various reforestation and urban greening initiatives. The efforts began with a targeted project on Paseo Colón, where Mayor Ricardo Moreno launched the replacement of 24 dead trees with native “encinos siempre verdes” (ever-green oaks) to restore green space and eliminate safety hazards.
