Turkish MotoGP rider Toprak Razgatlioglu suffered a dislocated right shoulder during a highside crash at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia. After attempting to compete in the sprint race, Razgatlioglu was forced to retire from the main Grand Prix on lap nine due to a loss of physical strength and an inability to generate power. While initial hopes were that rest might suffice, subsequent medical examinations in Milan confirmed the injury is more severe than originally anticipated. Razgatlioglu is scheduled to undergo surgery in Milan on Monday, October 26, to ensure a full recovery and a return to “100 percent performance” in the future. This injury marks a premature end to the Turkish rider’s debut season in the premier class. As a result, Razgatlioglu will miss the final five races of the 2026 MotoGP season, including the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island. Pramac Yamaha has announced that official test rider Augusto Fernández will replace him for the remaining rounds. Razgatlioglu expressed “extreme disappointment” regarding his absence from the Phillip Island circuit, a track where he previously achieved significant success during his Superbike career.
