AC Milan has maintained a strong start to the 2026/27 Serie A season, though their momentum was recently tempered by a 1-1 draw against Juventus. As the fourth round approached, Milan was set to face Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico. Following that period, Milan’s campaign has faced new challenges. Despite a recent loss to Benfica in European competition, Milan remains one of only five teams in the league yet to suffer a defeat this season, currently sitting four points off the top of the table. As the club prepares to host Lecce at San Siro, analysts have raised concerns regarding the team's stability and form under manager Ruben Amorim. Critics have noted that despite significant investment, the squad has appeared “fragile and lacks certainty in its play.” Lecce, led by Eusebio Di Francesco, enters the upcoming fixture with high motivation, trailing Milan by only two points. While historical statistics favor Milan, experts suggest the outcome at San Siro is far from guaranteed given Lecce's recent resilience. Amidst these concerns, young Belgian player Diego Moreira has emerged as a standout performer. In his first four matches, the 2004-born player has scored three goals, averaging one goal every 60 minutes. Moreira has demonstrated versatility across various roles, including wing-back and advanced positions. His recent form was also noted on the international stage, where he recorded a 0.78 xG and 90% pass accuracy while playing for the Belgian national team.
