The survival horror game Tormented Souls 2, developed by the Chilean studio Dual Effect, has launched on the Nintendo Switch 2. The title is available in both digital and physical formats, with physical copies distributed in North America and Europe. Set in the remote Villa Hess, the game follows protagonist Caroline Walker as she searches for her sister, Anna. The gameplay incorporates classic 1990s design elements such as fixed camera angles and resource management, alongside supernatural abilities that allow players to access the ‘Other Side,’ a dimension where altering the past affects the present. In this sequel, the setting shifts from a hospital to a sinister convent in southern Chile. The narrative reveals that Caroline and Anna have been kidnapped by a dangerous cult led by Mother Superior Lucía. Players must navigate complex level designs and solve puzzles to rescue Anna from a ritual sacrifice, all while maintaining a 1980s and 1990s horror film aesthetic. A Digital Deluxe Edition has been released, featuring alternative costumes for the protagonist, including the ‘Rebel Biker’ and ‘Classic Caroline Outfit.’ The production of the title was supported by the Chilean Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage.
