The Toronto Raptors have announced they will retire Kyle Lowry’s No. 7 jersey on January 10 at Scotiabank Arena. The ceremony is scheduled to take place following a post-game matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. Lowry, who played nine seasons with the franchise from 2012 to 2021, was a central figure in the team’s 2019 NBA championship. He holds several franchise records, including all-time leader in assists, steals, three-pointers, and triple-doubles. He becomes the second player in franchise history to receive this honor, joining Vince Carter. Carter, whose No. 15 was retired in November 2024. Following a 20-season NBA career that included stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, and the Philadelphia 76ers, Lowry the 40-year-old point guard officially retired from the NBA on July 7. He chose the symbolic 7/7 date and signed a one-day contract to retire as a Raptor. Lowry stated that he has “looked forward to this moment for years,” noting that Toronto has “always felt like home.”
