The Toros del Este baseball team has engaged in several roster adjustments ahead of the upcoming season. In a trade with Leones del Escogido, the Toros reacquired 27-year-old infielder Eguy Rosario. To secure Rosario, the Toros sent pitchers Winston Santos and Leonardo Taveras, along with a 2027 seventh-round draft pick, to the Leones. General Manager Jesús Mejía stated that Rosario “strengthens the team’s infield and provides a significant offensive advantage against left-handed pitching.” Following the trade, the team announced further player integrations, including outfielder George Valera, infielder Felnín Celestén, and pitchers Emailin Montilla, Miguel Castro, Julián Fernández, and Wilian Bormie. These additions include players with experience in various professional organizations, such as the Cleveland Guardians, Seattle Mariners, and Texas Rangers. As preseason training camp begins at Estadio Francisco A. Micheli, the roster has expanded to 55 players. Recent arrivals include outfielders Gilberto Celestino, a Gold Glove winner, and Allan Castro, who recently played for the Boston Red Sox AAA affiliate, as well as utility player Payton Eeles. The pitching staff has been reinforced by starters Aaron Brooks, Spencer Turnbull, and Juan Carela, with Brooks returning to the club following a strong previous season.
