During the Tour of Guangxi, Milan Fretin of Cofidis secured his first UCI WorldTour victory by winning the third stage in a mass sprint. This stage was notable for a mechanical mishap involving race leader Paul Magnier, whose foot unclipped during the final sprint, causing him to lose momentum. As a result, Frits Biesterbos took the overall race lead via time bonuses. Magnier reclaimed the overall lead in the general classification by winning the fourth stage. After being dropped on an early climb, he rejoined the peloton and won the final sprint ahead of Cees Bol and Max Kanter. This victory marked Magnier’s seventh stage win in the competition, setting a new record for the most successful stage winner in the race’s history, surpassing the previous record of six held by Fernando Gaviria. In the fifth stage, a 170.1-kilometer route from Jinchengjiang to Yizhou, Milan Fretin won again in a mass sprint, finishing ahead of Matteo Moschetti and Erlend Blikra. Although a crash occurred within the final kilometer involving Magnier and Frits Biesterbos, Magnier successfully maintained his overall lead in the general classification. However, the final stage at Nongla saw a shift in the standings. Belgian rider Jarno Widar of Lotto-Intermarché launched a decisive attack on the steep climbs to win the stage, finishing ahead of Tom Pidcock and Louis Barré. This performance allowed Widar to overturn the standings, securing his first WorldTour general classification victory by finishing nine seconds ahead of Pidcock in the overall classification. Juan Ayuso finished sixth in the final overall standings.
