Following the July 2026 launch of the ninth-generation Hilux in Indonesia, Toyota has extended the model’s rollout across multiple markets. In India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has commenced customer deliveries, with Olympic medalist Mary Kom among the first recipients in the Delhi NCR region. In Turkey, Toyota has officially launched the ninth generation, featuring a 2.8-liter D-4D diesel engine with a 48V mild hybrid system. The lineup includes Adventure, Hi-Cruiser, and Invincible trims, with the latter featuring a JBL Premium Sound System and 360-degree camera. Toyota Turkey aims to sell 1,000 units of the new Hilux by the end of the year, positioning it as a more premium model with standard 4x4 drive. Expansion has also reached Lithuania and Latvia, where the Hilux 2.8D partial hybrid model is now available in dealerships. This version combines a 2.8-liter diesel engine with a 48-volt hybrid system, producing 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Toyota’s electrification efforts are also advancing. An electric configuration has been spotted undergoing testing in Canaã dos Carajás, Brazil, following similar sightings in Argentina. Toyota plans to manufacture the first 100% electric Hilux at its Zárate plant in Argentina, marking the country’s first mass-scale electric vehicle production. This battery electric vehicle (BEV) will initially target the mining and industrial sectors to leverage predictable routes and centralized charging, while hybrid and diesel variants will be offered for the general public.
