The Toyota GR GT3 racing car is scheduled to make its official competitive debut during the Super GT season finale at Mobility Resort Motegi on November 7–8, 2026. The vehicle will compete in the GT300 class as an unclassified entry. The car features a four-litre V8 twin-turbo engine and is intended to succeed the Lexus RC F GT3. Unlike the road-going GR GT, which utilizes a hybrid system, the racing prototype relies on the twin-turbo V8. Reports indicate that Rookie Racing, the team associated with Akio Toyoda, will handle the premier entry in the GT300 class on November 8. Development of the vehicle has involved extensive testing, including work conducted by KCMG on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Following its debut, Toyota plans to deploy the vehicle across various racing series starting in the 2027 season. Planned participation includes the KCMG team at the Nürburgring and the ASP team entering two cars in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). While the car is already FIA homologated, its entry into the DTM is not expected until 2028 at the earliest, according to ADAC motorsport boss Thomas Voss. Due to limited initial production, participation in 2027 may be restricted to a small number of factory-supported teams, with customer deliveries not expected until at least 2028.
