Heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions have led to a series of traffic accidents across multiple German regions, including Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. Reported incidents included aquaplaning on the A9, A92, and A93 motorways, as well as collisions on the A5 and A3 that resulted in serious injuries and significant vehicle damage. Subsequent reports noted continued traffic incidents, such as a vehicle overturning on the A8 near Wendlingen, which required emergency response from Interior Minister Manuel Hagel and his security detail. Additionally, reports highlighted ongoing infrastructure maintenance and lane closures on various highways, including the A44, A3, and A93, scheduled to continue through 2027 and September. Recent reports indicate that heavy rain continues to cause accidents. On the A5 motorway near Willstätt, a 28-year-old driver sustained serious injuries after his vehicle struck a barrier and collided with a Ford towing a caravan; a separate accident involving a Skoda also occurred in that section. In Bavaria, intense rain triggered a vehicle rollover on the B307 in the Traunstein district and two aquaplaning-related collisions on the A3 near Nittendorf. Other incidents include a three-car frontal collision on the B29 near Bopfingen and a crash on the A6 near Reilingen caused by a blown tire.
