Various road accidents and public disturbances were reported across several Italian regions in late October 2026. On October 24, severe weather caused a tree to collapse onto the A11 highway near Lucca, grazing an SUV and forcing a partial closure of the motorway. On the same day, a collision between a car and a truck in a tunnel on the SS336 superhighway near Malpensa Airport resulted in an overturned vehicle and injuries to a 31-year-old driver. By October 26, additional incidents were reported in Verona, including a high-speed crash into a construction site and a hit-and-run involving a traffic light. In Ravenna, authorities intervened at a railway station following a violent altercation between three men, one of whom was found to be in violation of a mandatory expulsion order. On October 25, a fatal accident occurred at the Verona Porta Nuova railway station. Riccardo Stincone, a 33-year-old professional in the video game and comic book industry known by the pseudonym ‘XDinky’, died after falling under a moving train. Investigators report that Stincone attempted to catch a departing train by running along the platform and tapping on windows, during which he slipped. He passed away at Borgo Trento Hospital after being rushed there in critical condition. Railway Police are investigating the circumstances of the fall.
