In Campo Grande, Brazil, municipal transit authorities have issued several notices regarding road closures and traffic modifications. Late September reports indicated various weekend disruptions caused by sporting, religious, and cultural events. These included street races on Avenida Afonso Pena and in the Parque dos Poderes area, as well as closures for antique car fairs and religious festivities in the Segredo and Bandeiras regions. By early October, Agetran announced scheduled closures for the period of October 8 to 12. This included blocking the parking lane on Rua Marechal Rondon near number 1,380 on October 8 and 9, and a morning closure of Rua Filomena Segundo Nascimento in the Anhanduizinho region on October 9. On October 17, further interdictions were announced for Children's Day celebrations, religious gatherings, and sanitary sewage maintenance, affecting areas such as Rua Coxim, Avenida Amélio Carvalho Baís, and Rua Marquês de Leão. For the weekend of October 23 and 24, Agetran has scheduled further interventions to facilitate health services, community festivals, and fairs. On Friday, October 23, closures will affect Rua Junquilhos in Bandeira for health service parking and Rua Baobá between Rua Mururé and Grande Floresta. On Saturday, October 24, Rua República da Argentina in the Lagoa region will close, and Rua Angelina Chiesa in Anhanduizinho will be closed for a cultural fair. Additional Saturday closures are planned for the Prosa and Segredo regions to accommodate religious events, integration fairs, and car meets. Agetran noted these interventions are intended to “ensure the safety of pedestrians and drivers” during the various community events. Motorists are advised to use designated alternative routes and exercise increased caution near these areas. As of late October, the municipal government has also initiated a large-scale pothole repair project.
