Traffic disruptions and infrastructure developments across Poland continue to evolve through various road, rail, and public service projects. In the transportation sector, major roadworks include the expansion of national road DK46 between Dąbrowa and Opole, ongoing work on the DK40 in Głuchołazy, and the Towarowa viaduct in Warsaw. Recent maintenance scheduled for late October 2026 includes road closures on two county roads in the Tura district, specifically at viaducts crossing the A2 motorway in Kuny and Janów, to facilitate expansion joint replacement. New developments include the selection of Multiconsult Polska to design the S6 expressway expansion between the Straszyn and Rusocin junctions, an area where daily vehicle counts exceed 46,000. In the south, Protechnicon has been selected to design the final 3.6 km segment of the DK75 national road between Okocim and Uszew, a key step for the ‘Sądeczanka’ route. Additionally, the city of Bielsko-Biała has allocated over 21 million PLN for the development of the VeloBiała cycling route. Executed by ARBUD, this project involves reconstructing nine intersections, modernizing five bus bays, and installing energy-efficient lighting to separate cycling traffic from pedestrian paths. The project, which includes the city’s first bicycle counter, is slated for completion by April 27, 2028. Aviation investments are expanding, with Katowice Airport planning a new 49,000 m² passenger terminal costing approximately 1 billion PLN, targeted for 2031. Regarding the Port Polska (Centralny Port Komunikacyjny) development, contractors have been appointed to build approximately 90 km of roads connecting the planned airport to the A2 motorway and other national routes. The project, which aims to separate transit traffic from local journeys, involves three contractor teams: a Mirbud and Kobylarnia consortium for the eastern access road, Strabag for the eastern bypass, and NDI for the northern and western bypasses. These road contracts exceed PLN 1.3 billion. AYESA Polska will serve as the contract engineer to oversee the works as part of the broader transport hub expected to open in stages by 2032. Environmental and utility projects remain active. In active in Busko-Zdrój, where permits have been issued for groundwater extraction and water intake reconstruction.
