Authorities in Turkey have issued significant administrative fines and license revocations following various incidents involving driving under the influence and police evasion. In September, incidents in Kayseri involved a driver with a blood alcohol level of 1.20 promil who was fined 250,000 TL and had his license confiscated for two years. In a separate Eskişehir incident, a man driving with a 1.10 promil blood alcohol level was detained and fined 390,000 TL after a woman jumped from his moving truck to escape being held against her will. By October, enforcement actions expanded across several provinces. In Balıkesir, a five-day inspection of 749 vehicles resulted in 55 vehicles receiving fines totaling over 518,000 TL. In Nevşehir, a driver was fined 140,000 TL and had his license suspended for 60 days after attempting to hide evidence of drift driving. In Tekirdağ, a driver with a 1.53 promil blood alcohol level was fined 390,000 TL and had his license suspended until 2031. In Istanbul, rapper Blok3 (Hakan Aydın) received a judicial fine for driving while intoxicated and without a license. In Bursa, a driver of a luxury vehicle was issued a 550,000 TL fine and had his license revoked until 2042 after attempting to flee an alcohol checkpoint. More recently, in October 2026, a driver identified as G. S. was apprehended in Mudanya, Bursa, after engaging in dangerous maneuvers that nearly struck a child. The driver, found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.55 promille, was issued a 25,000 TL fine and had his license confiscated for six months. During the confrontation, G. S. denied targeting pedestrians, stating, “I never drove toward people. I swear I didn't. I would never put anyone's life in danger.” In mid-October, additional violations were reported.
